When You Found Me

I am listening for your footsteps to shake me from my madness
I imagine a whisper will wake me from this sadness
But silence seeps through the seam
Of the wreck you came to redeem

When you found me
I was alone and afraid
And you found me
In the prison that I made
You have found me

You’ll look around my cosy room you’ll say ‘my god this is homely’
And I’ll say ‘take me now, Jesus Christ, I am so lonely’.
Don’t leave me here gasping for love
at your feet while you’ve risen above

When you found me
I was alone and afraid
And you found me
In the prison that I made
You have found me

We all seek out diversions from the cold thought of dying
You can go on and on and on, but you’ll realise you’re lying
But now as life comes back in my face,
I regret I was such a hard case

When you found me
I was alone and afraid
And you found me
In the prison that I’d made
When you found me
