When You Found Me

I am listening for your footsteps to shake me from my madness
I imagine your whisper will wake me from this sadness
But silence seeps through the seam
Of the wreck you came to redeem

When you found me
Alone and afraid
You found me
In the prison that I made
When you found me
I was alone and afraid
You found me

You’ll look around my cozy room you’ll say ‘my god this is homely’
And I’ll say ‘take me now, Jesus Christ, I am so lonely’.
Don’t leave me here gasping for love
at your feet while you’ve risen above

When you found me
Alone and afraid
You found me
In the prison that I made
When you found me
I was alone and afraid
You found me

While we seek out diversions from the cold thought of dying
Some go on and on and on, but you know, they’re lying
There’s a truth I now have to face
I regret I was such a hard case

When you found me
Alone and afraid
You found me
In the prison that I made
When you found me
I was alone and afraid
You found me
