The Sting

(And then) suddenly a scorpion
It’s tail arcing like a live wire
Sparking on the ground
And me in my bare feet
Dancing ‘round the fire.

(Where there’s) one there’ll be another one
A tale lighting up my soul fire
Bare against the earth
And me in this rare heat
Dancing like a live wire.

Have you ever watched a full moon rise
Under a fig tree in the veld?
Have you looked into your lover’s eye
And told them how you felt?
Have you ever felt the jolt of love
Like the sting of scorpions?
And struck right then like lightning
And thrown caution to the winds.

(And then) suddenly a scorpion
It’s tail arcing like a live wire
Sparking on the ground
And me in my bare feet
Dancing ‘round the fire.

Dancing ‘round the fire
We’re dancing around the fire
