Yacht Rock

I’m in a fine marina
With a cocktail in my hand
On the deck, yeah, you should see her
Of my boat called Slumberland

You might call me a dreamer
My mind’s on the island sand
Cotton shirt, a second hand Beemer
And my boat called Slumberland

Together we yearn for the ocean
One day we’ll sail away!
Out of this lovely marina
To feel the wind sweeping over the bay

Howdy shipmate, hey! Ahoy there
Come aboard, and join the band
Of a punch-wrecked jolly sailor
On my boat called Slumberland

I’m back on the river again
With a broad reach for the sea
People along the shoreline
Envy is looking at me

Pan-pan, mayday, roger, over
To anyone still on land
I fear I’m running out of river
I’m on a boat called Slumberland

I’m out on the estuary the waves are too high
My heart is sinking, there’s a tear in my eye
It’s wet on the deck and I look at the sky
I turn back to the harbour where it’s safe and dry

Together we yearn for the ocean
One day we’ll sail away!
Beyond the end of this river
To feel the wind sweeping over the bay

I’m back in the marina
A sundowner in my hand
On the deck, man, you should see her
Of my boat called Slumberland

Living the dream on Slumberland…
A fool in slumberland…
